The Green

The Green is the centre of student life here at Bradford. It is the accommodation recommended by the University of Bradford to our students.

The Green is just a few minutes from the Students' Union, the library and your morning lectures. It is also just a short walk away from the city centre and other local attractions. This makes it the perfect place to call home during your time at university.

Living at The Green means you'll be a part of a close-knit community. The Site Team and our Student Wardens organise social events, trips, competitions and games on and off site – so you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make lots of friends.

The Green Village

Apartments are great if you like your privacy. Each of them has six en-suite bedrooms, so you can enjoy your own private shower room.

Every apartment has a shared kitchen/dining area and living space and bedrooms include a three quarter bed, desk study area and a wardrobe.

Our apartments also cater for people with a wide range of disabilities.

Townhouses at The Green

Townhouses are best described as blocks of houses, similar to a traditional English terraced block, and are the cheapest of our two accommodation options.

Each townhouse has 12 bedrooms sharing a large open plan living space which includes a kitchen/dining area and living space with direct access to an outdoor patio/garden.

Each floor has four bedrooms and two shower rooms with a shower, sink and toilet – meaning two students share a bathroom. The bedrooms include a three quarter bed, desk study area and a wardrobe.

Applying to The Green

If you would like to live in university recommended halls, it is best to apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment in your choice of room type. We accept applications from all year groups (returning students and new students) including postgraduate and PhD students. If you have any preferences on who you'd like to live with, such as female-only or first years-only, please contact The Green and we will try and arrange this.

Visit the Homes for Students website to secure your accommodation.

What happens next?

Once you have applied online at the Homes for Students website, you will receive an email with your offer of accommodation. You will need to accept this offer and pay a £50 deposit to secure your room.

Once you have accepted, we will be in touch if there is any further information we need from you. Your deposit is fully refundable if your place to study at the University of Bradford is rejected. Living Green

The Green previously achieved ‘Outstanding’ Sustainable Building Certification via BREEAM.

The Green is the only student accommodation in Bradford that features a biodiverse pond surrounded by an array of green spaces, offering nature right on your doorstep. It’s the perfect place for students who appreciate a tranquil, environmentally friendly living environment.

Insurance

Insurance of your belongings is included, and covers the contents of your room and other personal items.

Student Lounge

The Student Lounge opened in November 2017 and is located in the heart of the Green. It offers a social space where students can get together and relax.

It’s equipped with:

  • Giant Jenga
  • Internal and external seating

The Student Lounge is only accessible by students who live in the Green.
