Our local communities

Whether you live in the local community, are part of a community or school group or you work in the city and district, the University of Bradford offers a number of ways for you to connect with us.

You can book an appointment with our physio clinic, law clinic or eye clinic; you can join our on-campus gym; use our award-winning nursery or you could attend one of our events to find out more about our research and how it impacts you.

If you run a community group or are from a local school, we can explore ways to work together including delivering projects that will bring mutual benefit, providing opportunities for students or exploring our courses to build the skills in your organisation.

There's lots of different ways you can connect with us, so if you'd like to get involved please get in touch - we’d love to hear from you.

Our public clinics

The University of Bradford Nursery

At the University of Bradford Nursery, we provide a high-quality early education for children aged from birth to five years. Children are able to choose their own learning activities, such as building with blocks, playing with natural materials, or painting.
Our team then supports your children's development, extending their knowledge and understanding, offering support and guidance to build on your child's moment of curiosity and wonder.
This approach allows each child to learn in a way that best fits their individual needs, supporting them to show their potential within their early years' education.
We pride ourselves on maintaining our outstanding Ofsted rating by ensuring we care for, and nurture, every child.

See full details on the Nursery pages.

Schools and community groups

If you are from a community group, we can explore delivering a project with you that will benefit your group or local area. The project could include working together to co-create a solution, student volunteering opportunities, academics sharing their knowledge, or student placements.

If you are a local school, we can organise visits from our outreach team or academics to talk about the different courses and careers they could explore, or we could deliver STEM activities to your classes to help grow curiosity and wonder in these subject areas.

Attend a Together Cafe to discuss ideas for community projects.

UNIfy Festival 2024

Here's an example of one of our community events - this is an overview of 2024's UNIfy Festival, hosted by the University to engage people from across the City in projects delivered by our staff, students and academics. In 2024, the UNIfy Festival was themed ‘What a Difference!’ and included a Community Day that celebrated what makes us different, recognised projects that are making a difference in the City and demonstrated how when different people come together brilliant things can happen.
