Volunteering in your community

As a University we have access to large community of staff and students who can potentially make a difference to your group or organisation as a volunteer.

Student volunteering

Our Student's Union has an active volunteering programme with non-profits, charities, and local NHS available to all students who are eager to give something back to the community and earn valuable skills in the process.

We also run an annual volunteering fair on campus to allow organisations to engage directly with students and them interested in their projects.

For all enquiries, please email [email protected]

Staff volunteering

Our staff have the opportunity to take the time for voluntary work or to visit an organisation that will make a positive economic, social, cultural or environmental contribution to the community.

Currently, our staff are involved in voluntary roles in local school and college governance, local government, advisory boards, Scout and Guide groups and more.

If you are looking for specific expertise from our talented staff or a more general appeal for help, please fill in the form and we will respond to you to discuss the next steps.

Other ways of working with us on a project

If you're looking for a more collaborative approach to a project, our Together Cafes are an opportunity to engage with individuals and community groups with the goal of working together to make positive change for the region.

Career and Employability Services run a programme of summer internships where we place a student in your organisation for six weeks to work on a specific project. These can be fully funded for registered charities.

You can also advertise paid jobs suitable for students and graduates through our jobs platform.
