Consolidating Midwifery Knowledge 2: Research, Scholarship and Leadership

This module builds on learning from ‘Transition to Midwifery Knowledge 3: Research and Global Midwifery’, Within this module you will develop your research, scholarship, and leadership skills. You will explore the impact of health inequalities on women, babies and families’ health and wellbeing. You will investigate the national and global context and consider ethical and political dimensions of maternity care. You will examine the evidence underpinning practice. The role of interprofessional communication within the public health agenda will be explored, including the use of digital technologies. You will develop skills to further transition to your professional self, supporting the application of theory to practice. You will further develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours cognisant of the future midwife standards (2019). You will apply the knowledge and skills developed through this learning to their clinical practice within the year-long module ‘Consolidating Midwifery Practice’.
